The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF), along with groups like the Virginia Citizens Defense League (VCDL) and private efforts such as Shoot the Vote, are urging gun owners, hunters, recreational shooters, and Second Amendment supporters to make their voices heard this election season. With Election Day, November 5th, just around the corner, these organizations are emphasizing the importance of registering to vote and staying informed about where candidates stand on gun rights.
According to the NSSF, the firearm industry’s trade association, this election is pivotal for gun owners. The organization has launched its #GUNVOTE campaign to ensure that gun owners are registered and prepared to vote in the upcoming election.
NSSF’s #GUNVOTE initiative directs gun owners to visit GunVote.org to register, locate polling places, and learn more about candidates’ positions on gun rights. Keane stressed how narrow margins have decided previous elections, citing the 2020 election, where key states were won by just a few thousand votes.
“More than 10 million hunters and Second Amendment supporters remain unregistered to vote ahead of the 2024 election,” Keane added, urging voters to not only register but also ensure their friends and fellow gun owners are prepared to vote.
Key States with Unregistered Gun Owners
The NSSF highlighted several pivotal states where hundreds of thousands of gun owners remain unregistered. States like Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, and Arizona could determine the outcome of the 2024 election. For instance, more than 515,000 hunters and gun owners in Pennsylvania alone are still unregistered. Other key states like Georgia, Wisconsin, and Virginia have similar numbers of unregistered gun owners.
The #GUNVOTE campaign is offering comprehensive voter education, including state-by-state information on registration deadlines, early voting options, and polling locations.
Join the Effort to Protect the Second Amendment
In addition to the NSSF, the Virginia Citizens Defense League, Shoot the Vote, and other organizations have joined the effort to mobilize gun owners ahead of the 2024 election. Their collective message is clear: Don’t risk your rights—register, vote, and protect the Second Amendment.
With many states already sending out mail-in ballots and early voting underway, these organizations are calling on all Second Amendment supporters to act quickly. Visit GunVote.org today to ensure your registration is up to date, find your polling location, and make a plan to vote.
